Author's Bio

My first full-length collection, The River Will Save Us, is forthcoming from Aldrich Press, an imprint of Kelsay Books. My essay about the process of writing “Tea House of the Texas Moon,” one of the lynchpin poems in The River Will Save Us, is forthcoming in the anthology, Far Villages: Welcome Essays for New and Beginner Poets, from Black Lawrence Press.

Poetry is meant to take on a life off the page; I’ve been lucky to have poems included in several art installations in San Antonio, and see them illustrated by young artists for public bus cards in San Antonio, TX and Norwalk, CT. I’m honored to have work been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, “Stations of the Cross,” a 15-poem sequence published in the anthology, Alternatives to Surrender.

When not writing poetry, I enjoy watercolor painting. One of my paintings appears on the cover of Archeology.
