Author's Bio

LOR CLINCY is a Chicago native, who orients her work in all things real and raw. She explores the layers of her life in contained transparency often wondering what she can process next. She is a recent graduate of the Creative Writing MFA Program at Columbia College Chicago. She received her BA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Her debut chapbook, RESOLVE, was published by Bottlecap Press. Her poetry appears in Foothill Poetry Journal, ALLIUM: A Journal of Poetry and Prose, Off the Page: Poetry Reimagined, and is forthcoming in the African American Review. She was featured in Torch Literary’s Friday Feature series, and her poem “For the Condemned” won an honorable mention in the 2024 Eileen Lannan Poetry Prize at Columbia College Chicago, sponsored by the Academy of American Poets. Though formally trained as a writer and poet, Lor is an interdisciplinary artist sifting through photography, music, and visual art.
