Author's Bio

I'm an Instructional Assistant Professor of English at Texas A&M University, where I teach creative writing and literature. Before becoming an academic I drove a cab, sold shade trees, worked at the IRS, and did a lot of fishing. More recently I spent two years as NEA Artist-in-Residence at a federal minimum-security prison for women. I was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters in 2014.
