Author's Bio

Lynne Golodner is an author and poet, writing coach, entrepreneur and host of the Make Meaning Podcast. She teaches writing, coaches writers, and is the author of two poetry collections, six nonfiction books and a 2023 novel, Woman of Valor. 

After 15 years as a print journalist, writing about faith, food, home and family for magazines and newspapers around the world, Lynne poured her communication skills into a new role as Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Your People – a marketing company with a focus on purpose and story. Over the years, Lynne helped nonprofits, schools and universities develop and implement strategic marketing plans, and now, she and the company focus on empomwering authors, writers and people in publishing to develop compelling author brands and market their books.

In 2018, Lynne launched the Make Meaning Podcast, where she interviews writers, authors and people in publishing from around the world, including Patrick Hicks, Merryn Glover, Rosina Lippi a.k.a. Sara Donati, Sara Henning, Steven Wingate, Laura Munson and more. Lynne teaches writing at University of Detroit Mercy and facilitates her signature Finding Your Voice writing class along with a menu of other writing courses and retreats through WritingWorkshops.com.

In 2021, Lynne launched The Writers Community, an opportunity for regular writing support in an encouraging online forum. She has taught a variety of classes, including her signature Finding Your Voice, Perfecting Line Breaks in Poetry, The Art of the Sentence, Creating Your Author Brand, Demystifying Show, Don't Tell and others. Her college courses have included composition, literature and poetry, professional writing, creative writing, journalism, business writing and academic writing, among others. Through Your People, Lynne coaches writers, leads writers retreats, and offers the Author Brand Marketing Mastermind to empower authors to develop a compelling brand and market their books.

In 2023, Lynne launched Scotia Road Books, a hybrid publishing imprint for women over 40 with strong voices that need to be heard.

From 2016-2020, Lynne founded and led One Earth Writing, a nonprofit organization designed to bring teens from different races, religions, and socioeconomic origins together in writing workshops. A former Fulbright Specialist, Lynne graduated from University of Michigan (BA, Communications/English) and Goddard College (MFA, Writing). She is the mother of four teenagers and lives in Huntington Woods, Michigan. (Lynne's work has been published by several bylines: Lynne Meredith Cohn, Lynne Schreiber and Lynne Golodner.)
