Author's Bio

Martin has read Emily Dickinson at the Library of Congress for the Favorite Poem Project, and his reflections on “The Grass so little has to do” are included in the project’s anthology, An Invitation to Poetry, edited by Robert Pinsky, Maggie Dietz and Rosemarie Ellis.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Pennsylvania and Southeastern Massachusetts, distance runner and lover of nature, he is the father of two sons and a daughter, and grandfather of one grandson. Martin lives in Washington, D.C., where he works for an environmental organization.
