Author's Bio

Melissa Barrett Burkeet is the author of MOON ON ROAM (Gold Wake Press, 2019), a collection of poems that was a finalist for more than twenty book prizes. Her poems and essays have been published in BOMB, Crazyhorse, Harvard Review, jubilat, and Best American Poetry. A Pushcart Prize nominee, her writing has been recognized by the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prizes, The Poetry Society, The Ohio Arts Council, Tin House's Summer Workshop, Gulf Coast, and The Iowa Review. Melissa was a public school teacher and principal in Columbus, Ohio for several years before moving to Cleveland.
