Author's Bio

Michele Evans is the author of the poetry collection purl (Finishing Line Press).  This fifth-generation Washingtonian (D.C.) is an English and Creative Writing teacher, adviser of Unbound an award-winning high school literary magazine, and consultant for the Northern Virginia Writing Project. Prior to becoming an educator, Michele Evans studied English Language and Literature at Smith College, King’s College London, and the Graduate School at the University of Maryland. Her poetry has appeared in Artemis Journal, Maryland Literary ReviewSpoken Black Girl MagazineZora's Den, and elsewhere.
