Author's Bio

Patricia Williams, Iola, Wisconsin, originally from Illinois, taught K-12 Art before spending 27 years teaching Design at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Pat began writing poetry in 2013 after retiring. She feels the visual arts and the literary arts are natural partners, their work being the creative examination of life and living. She has over two hundred poems published in more than fifty journals and anthologies plus three books of poetry – a 27 poem chapbook about her travels, The Port Side of Shadows (Finishing Line Press, 2017) Midwest Medley (Kelsay Books, 2018) a sixty poem collection inspired by the people and places of the Midwest and a fifty-seven poem/memoire collection, Rejection to Acceptance (Kelsay Books, 2023). Her work has been nominated for Best of the Net and for the Pushcart Prize. She belongs to the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets and has participated in three weeklong writer's retreats and several writer's workshops. Pat is one of sixteen poets whose work was chosen to be embedded in the sidewalks of Waupaca Wisconsin. She has read her work in coffee shops, bars, libraries and any place willing to listen.

She received the Editor's Choice Award from Waypoints in 2017 for "Islands".
