Author's Bio

Rachel R. Baum is a Best of the Net nominated poet, dog behaviorist, librarian, kayak angler, and APA-ranked pool player. She is the editor of Funeral and Memorial Service Readings, Poems and Tributes (McFarland, 1999), named Best Non-Fiction by Today's Librarian. She began writing poetry in 2021, after contracting Covid-19 and never getting better. Since then, more than 75 of her poems have appeared in OneArt, New Verse News, The Phare, Raven’s Perch, Plainsongs, and others. Her poetry chapbook Richard Brautigan’s Concussion was published by Bottlecap Press in 2023. Cowboy Jamboree Press published How to Rob a Convenience Store in 2024. She is the author of the long-running blog Bark! Confessions of a Dog Trainer. Rachel is the founder of Moving Mountains Poets, a group of women poets over age 50 who meet online; she also founded the Saratoga Peace Pod, crafters who create warm items for families in crisis.
