Author's Bio

I started Anderbo Books in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1971; it was my second publishing company. It continues today as http://www.anderbo.com with me as Publisher & Editor-in-Chief and has a great group of online editors working on it. I have also, since 2004, run the No-Fee RRofihe Trophy Short Story Contest, and was an advisor to the Vilcek Foundation for their 2011 prizes in the field of literature. As a writer, I'm mostly known for my nine New Yorker magazine short stories acquired by The New Yorker in a 3-year period, all edited by Pat Strachan http://www.anderbo.com/bop9.html -- you can hear Anne Fiero read the third one at http://www.annecammon.com/audio/Rofihe_Satellite_Dish.mp3 -- but my nonfiction pieces such as the two on http://mrbellersneighborhood.com/author/rick-rofihe and the one on http://www.anderbo.com/anderbo1/afact-013.html are also important to me, as is my book of short stories, FATHER MUST (Farrar, Straus & Giroux; Editor: Jonathan Galassi; Agent: Gail Hochman; Book and Cover Design: Cynthia Krupat; Publicist: Helene Atwan.) http://blog.fictionaut.com/2009/05/23/rediscovered-reading-father-must-by-rick-rofihe/
