Robert Matte, Jr.

Robert Matte Jr. has been a wordsmith for many years. He has lived in various parts of the U.S. as well as in France, Turkey and England. Among other pursuits he has been a hippie poet, an Army officer and a college teacher. He and his wife Kathy have raised two sons in Tucson, Arizona. His last two books of poetry are Fort Apache and Digging For Bones. Mr. Matte has an abiding love for the land and the peoples of the American Southwest and is often struck with awe and wonder.
