Author's Bio

Poet Susan Blanshard was born in Hampshire, England. She is an author, poet, essayist, copywriter, English 'revisionary' poetry editor for works in translation. Susan experienced a nomadic childhood in England, the United States, and New Zealand. Consequently, her literary work is colored by her multicultural past and present. 

Susan Blanshard is author of poetry collections and book length poems including Sheetstone: Memoir for a Lover (published by Spuyten Duyvil, New York), Honey In My Blood, Sleeping With The Artist, Fragments Of The Human Heart, Quieter Histories, Send The Raven, Poems From The Alley. She was co-wrote Cutter: A Literary Crime Thriller,  and Inkstone: Paintings And Poems Hanoi. Her selected essays, short-fiction and poems are published in numerous international literary magazines including: 'The World’s Literary Magazine: Projected Letters', 'Six Bricks Press', 'Arabesque Magazine', 'ICORN International Cities of Refuge', 'Coldnoon International Journal of Travel and Literature', 'PEN International Women Writers’ Magazine','PEN International Writers Committee, Nuestra Voz, Notre Voix, Biblioteca De Textos Universitarios, Argentina, The Fourth Anthology, Our Voice'. Her essays ‘The Pillow Book’, ‘Four Recipes’, ‘The Traveler’, ‘Orientation’, published in Arts and Culture, Lotus International Magazine'. Her collected poems including ‘Running the Deserts’, ‘Midnight Mojave’ are included in 'The VAANI Anthology for the Olympic Games', London. Her essay with Vietnamese translation is featured in 'The Anthology of The First Asian Pacific Poetry Festival'.

Susan Blanshard has re-translated Vietnamese poems into English poetical form. She was the contributing Revisionary English Poet and mentor for 16 books and/or works of poetry/essay/critique/ for the recipient of the 10th Swedish Cikada Prize, Vietnamese poet Mai Van Phan. Susan is Editor for 'Night Picture Of Rain Sound' Collected Short Stories by South Korean playwright, Sue Ja Joo.
