Author's Bio

I was born in Ohio and have lived in Rome, Paris, Normandy, and New York, where I taught in the City University for many years and to which I've recently returned. I've had happy collaborations with painter Richard Ryan (our Artists Book, XXII, is available from Center Street Studio)and composer Joel Mandelbaum (Joel's full-length opera to my original libretto THE VILLAGE premiered in the City University in 1995.
