Valerie Coulton is the author of Open Book (Apogee Press, 2011) The Cellar Dreamer (Apogee Press), passing world pictures (Apogee Press), and the lily book (San Francisco State University). Her poems, co-translations, and collaborations have appeared in Front Porch, kadar koli, New American Writing, alice blue, Parthenon West Review, and e-poema, among other periodicals and online journals. She received her MFA from San Francisco State University in 2004. She participated in the 2011 Sofia Poetry Festival and her poems have been translated into Greek and Bulgarian. She lives in Barcelona with the poet Edward Smallfield.
