Editorial Focus
Jet Fuel Review is a student-run, faculty-advised, online literary magazine. Believing in the power of language, the editors seeks to provide a platform for quality writing and artwork that pushes boundaries, surpasses expectations, and creates emotional resonance in readers. Aiming to showcase work that is representative of the complex and evolving human condition, the editors feature a wide array of voices and styles. Each semester, there’s a rotating editorial team of Lewis students and alumni who carefully evaluate submissions.
Tips From the Editor
While there are specific qualities we look for in each genre, there are some general, overarching qualifications to keep in mind when sending your work to Jet Fuel Review. We’re looking for all work sent to us to have a unique aesthetic. In other words, your work should be something that can only come from you, that stems from who you are and what you believe. We’re looking for work that articulates itself well and says something interesting in its syntax, metaphors, ideas, and images. We are looking for authors who take risks with language and who write linguistically interesting pieces. When it comes to art, we expect the same kind of risk-taking when it comes to color, design, and technique.
