Editorial Focus

Mud Season Review is an international literary journal run by members of the Burlington Writers Workshop. The journal publishes online six times annually: one story, one portfolio of poems, one essay or piece of narrative nonfiction, and visual art. The online journal showcases these individual works with accompanying artwork, for two months, and publishes interviews with the authors and featured artists. It aims to publish deeply human, fully realized work from far and wide, and hopes always to include voices new to them and new to publication.

Tips From the Editor

We have month-long reading periods every other month throughout the year. See the website for more details. We also offer a feedback request service that features written feedback on work for a fee. We do not accept mailed submissions, multiple submissions, or anything that has previously appeared in print or online (including on your personal blog or website, artwork excepted). We accept emailed submissions through Submittable only.
