Editorial Focus
Northwest Review’s editors are eager to read works that are formally inventive, experimental in voice or form; the editors want to read work from writers of marginalized communities and voices, especially writers who have never before published their work.
Tips From the Editor
We read everything! I personally see every submission that comes in before we route to our section editors for review. Every work submitted is reviewed and read by at least two different editors. We strongly encourage writers to continue submitting, even if their initial work is not accepted; we have published many writers after they’ve submitted one, then two, then three times, and we’ve worked with writers to develop their stories from “almost there” to published. If publication with Northwest Review would constitute your debut work, please let us know so that we can give your work the attention it deserves. Let us know what you're up to on social! We want to hear from you and welcome you into our community.
