Tips From the Editor
The SLQ aesthetic: language that surprises, narratives that feel necessary. Remove your name from the document itself: our submissions editors read anonymously. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please take into consideration that we usually respond within a few days. Mulitple submissions are considered for a small fee. Please include only your third-person bio in your cover letter. If you write us a long, personal cover letter, you'll be disappointed that we didn't respond. We love you, but we read anonymously and don't see cover letters until we accept or decline a submission. Please note that we respond usually within one week and that our acceptance rate is currently .2% (the Poets & Writers criteria don't allow for correct data).
