Editorial Focus
At Wayfarer Books, the editors believe poetry is the language of the earth. They believe words, shaped like rivers through wild places, can change the shape of the world. They publish poets and writers and renegades who stand outside of mainstream culture—poets, essayists, and storytellers whose work might withstand the scrutiny of crows and coyotes, those who are cryptic and floral, the crepuscular, and the queer-at-heart. They are more than just a publisher but a community of writers.
Tips From the Editor
By our definition, a wayfarer is one whose inner compass is ever-oriented to truth, wisdom, healing, and beauty in their own wandering. The Wayfarer’s mission as a publication is to foster a community of contemplative voices and provide readers with resources and perspectives that support them in their own journey.
As we move into our seventh year, in the face of these frightening times we must endure, we renew our commitment to our readers to be a space of solace and our pledge to advocate for marginalized communities, the arts, and environmental conservation.
