With the strong support of the Morningside Heights community and the faculty and administration of Columbia University, Book Culture is a true community bookstore. Founded in 1997, the store features new and classic fiction and nonfiction, cookbooks, mystery novels, graphic novels, home and craft books, and travel guides. The bookstore has four locations, including two in Manhattan, one in Long Island City, and one in Pittsford, New York. This location has a Children’s Reading Room downstairs, which is filled with books, toys, games, puzzles, art supplies, and plush toys.
Find details about every creative writing competition—including poetry contests, short story competitions, essay contests, awards for novels, grants for translators, and more—that we’ve published in the Grants & Awards section of Poets & Writers Magazine during the past year. We carefully review the practices and policies of each contest before including it in the Writing Contests database, the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests available anywhere.
