Since 1995, the Denver Public Library Central branch has been the largest library between Los Angeles and Chicago. Central Library is located next to the Denver Art Museum and has its own art collection. Designed by postmodern architect Michael Graves, the library features a coffee shop and is home to several book clubs.
The library also hosts community learning workshops for people of all ages, which cover subjects such as honing computing skills, communicating in English, studying for the GED, and getting help with homework; author readings and talks, storytime, and many other events throughout the year. The mission of the library is to connect people with information, ideas, and experiences to provide enjoyment, enrich lives, and strengthen the community.
