Emerald Coast Writers, formerly known as the West Florida Literary Federation, brings together writers and area residents who are interested in writing and the literary heritage of West Florida. They offer and host educational programs, writing workshops, readings, community programs, school poetry competitions, awards, critique sessions, open mics every third Tuesday of the month, and related activities for members and the public. They also sponsor an annual student poetry writing contest, publish an anthology biannually, and maintain the Dr. Francis P. Cassidy Literary Resource Center at the Pensacola Cultural Center.
Find details about every creative writing competition—including poetry contests, short story competitions, essay contests, awards for novels, grants for translators, and more—that we’ve published in the Grants & Awards section of Poets & Writers Magazine during the past year. We carefully review the practices and policies of each contest before including it in the Writing Contests database, the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests available anywhere.
