By fostering the art of creative writing, the mission of Inprint is to inspire readers and writers in Houston. A nonprofit organization founded in 1983, Inprint fulfills this mission through the nationally renowned Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series, the Cool Brains! Reading Series for Young People, Escritores en la casa Reading Series, and through literary and educational activities in the community that demonstrate the value and impact of creative writing with support from the UH Creative Writing Program. Today Inprint programs and events provide something for everyone and play a vital role in Houston’s rich and diverse cultural life.
Find details about every creative writing competition—including poetry contests, short story competitions, essay contests, awards for novels, grants for translators, and more—that we’ve published in the Grants & Awards section of Poets & Writers Magazine during the past year. We carefully review the practices and policies of each contest before including it in the Writing Contests database, the most trusted resource for legitimate writing contests available anywhere.
