Located in the heart of downtown Evanston, Illinois, Bookends & Beginnings opened in June 2014 in the space formerly occupied by legendary antiquarian store Bookman’s Alley. They offer new, used, and bargain books, unique gift items, and literary events.
The Moonstone Arts Center promotes creative exchange through diverse cultural programs. Each year Moonstone produces over 200 public events including poetry, author appearances, music, theater, and film at our location in Center City, Philadelphia. They also organize collaborative programs such as Thomas Paine: The Forgotten Founding Father and John Brown: 150 Years Later. One of their most successful annual programs is Poetry Ink: 100 Poets Read, seven hours of poetry, food, and conversation with poetry lovers from around the area during Poetry Month in April.

Kramers opened in 1976 and is the first bookstore/cafe in Washington, D.C. The shop has a good stock of LGBT and local literature, as well as a healthy general selection, and is open twenty-four hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Events include author signings and readings.

The Parma Chai Out of the Blue Community Arts Gallery is a beloved art gallery, music venue, and literary salon known for its lively local art exhibits and music shows. With thirty years of experience in the arts and hosting events both public and private, formal and casual, the team behind the gallery has always worked to ensure art flourishes in the Cambridge neighborhood. At the gallery, there is space available for artists and makers to work in, as well as room for art shows, music, rehearsals, and other creative activities such as classes, dance, and yoga.
Established in 1999 at the University of Louisville, the Anne and William Axton Reading Series was established through the generosity of the late William Axton, former University of Louisville English professor, and his wife, the late Anne Axton. The Series brings highly distinguished writers from across the country to the University of Louisville for two-day visits to read from their work, and to share their knowledge and expertise with the University and Louisville community.
Franklin Park was carved out of a dilapidated mechanic shop in 2007 a few blocks off Eastern Parkway and down the street from the Brooklyn Museum in Crown Heights. Originally meant to be a small relaxing place to enjoy the outdoor patio, the bar grew a year later as demand picked up. It features a multitude of atmospheres in one space with an outdoor beer garden and two bars to hop between along with giant televisions for important televised events and a full kitchen now to feed the masses.
Madison Public Library’s tradition of promoting education, literacy, and community involvement has enriched the City of Madison since 1875. Their nine locations throughout the City of Madison are open six days a week (with limited Sunday hours) and welcome over 2.35 million visits each year. They host literary events including talks and author readings.
