Author's Bio

Emily Arnason Casey was born and mostly raised in northern Minnesota. Her family also lived in West Virginia and North Dakota before returning to settle beside a lake in rural Minnesota where her father and mother built a log home and raised their six children. A graduate of the University of Minnesota--twin cities, after moving to Vermont, Casey studied fiction and creative nonfiction at Vermont College of Fine Arts where she received an MFA in writing. Her essays have appeared in literary journals such as American Literary Review, Normal School, Hotel Amerika, and Mid-American Review. Former Nonfiction Editor of Atlas & Alice Magazine, she coaches and mentors writers, teaches at the Community College of Vermont, and tends children in rural Vermont with her husband, the kindergarten teacher and singer song-writer, Mr. Martin.
