Established in 2012 as Visceral Uterus Magazine, the magazine housed poetry, flash fiction, and the rare art piece of various genres, before becoming a strictly poetic, strictly feminist zine. Now rebranded as Punk Monk Magazine, the magazine includes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction features along with music, comedy, art and more.
Punk Monk Magazine reviews novels, novellas, collections, chapbooks, and microchaps. Writers looking to request a review should send queries to punkmonkmagazine@gmail.com with the subject line “Review Request: [book title]” and include a book jacket blurb, an author bio, a publisher name, and a one-page sample in the email body. Self-published books are allowed but must be indicated. Requesting a review is free, but a $30 CAD honorarium is required for titles accepted for review. Publishers and previously published Punk Monk writers are encouraged to send review requests.
