Editorial Focus

Restless Books is an independent, nonprofit publisher devoted to championing essential voices from around the world whose stories speak to readers across linguistic and cultural borders. The editors seek extraordinary international literature that feeds a hunger for new perspectives, a passion for other cultures and languages, and an eagerness to explore beyond the confines of the familiar.

Tips From the Editor

Each year, Restless Books holds the Restless Books Prize for New Immigrant Writing to honor outstanding debut literary book-length works by first-generation immigrants, awarded for fiction and nonfiction in alternating years. The winner receives $10,000 and publication by Restless Books. Beginning in 2024, the prize will also include poetry.
