Herbert White is a short film based on Frank Bidart’s poem “Herbert White,” which takes the form of a psychopathic murderer’s dramatic monologue. Written and directed by James Franco in collaboration with Bidart, the 2010 film stars Michael Shannon.

The newest film adaptation of William Faulkner's novel The Sound and the Fury, directed by James Franco, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2014 and is currently in limited release and on video on demand. Franco previously directed a film adaptation of As I Lay Dying, another of Faulkner's novels, which was released in 2013.

Directed by James Franco, who also stars as Darl Bundren, As I Lay Dying will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month. Based on the 1930 classic by William Faulkner, As I Lay Dying, which was filmed in Canton Mississippi, is the story of the death of Addie Bundren and her family's quest to honor her wish to be buried in the nearby town of Jefferson.

The Broken Tower, the Hart Crane biopic writen, directed, and starring James Franco, was released this week and can now be downloaded or viewed on demand. There's been a lot of speculation about the film ever since Franco aquired the rights to Paul Mariani's biography of the same title, but at least one critic isn't impressed. Writing in Slate, Evan Hughes called the film "incredibly dull."
