Author's Bio

I served as Poet Laureate of Livermore, California from 2005 to 2009. I hosted a popular reading series in the San Francisco Bay Area in Crockett, California (The Valona Deli Second Sunday Poetry Series from 2009 to 2018) My Chapbook "And When the Sun Drops"(Finishing Line Press 2012) received the Aurorean Editors Chapbook Choice Award for Fall 2012. My first full length book "Floodwater" was released in January 2014 by Glass Lyre Press."Floodwater" earned the Glass Lyre Press Lyrebird Award. My second full length collection "Prime Meridian" was released in January 2020 by Glass Lyre Press, and was a finalist in the 2020 Best Book Awards for Poetry, the 2021 International Poetry Awards,  2020 American Fiction Award (poetry) and was named a distinguished favorite for poetry in the 2022 Independent Book Awards. In 2023, my third full length collection "Between Twilight" was released by New York Quarterly Books and a finalist in the Best Book Awards. My 2023 Chapbook "Broken Metronome" was published by Glass Lyre Press. Broken Metronome was the winner of the American Fiction Award for a chapbook.  it was a finalist in the Best Book Awards, the International Book Awards,  the American Legacy Awards and the Eric Hoffers Awards.  It was also named a distinguished favorite in the NYC Big book awards and the Independent Press Awards.
