Author's Bio

Biography:

After enjoying a long teaching career on the faculty of the Department of Child Development, California State University, Sacramento, I turned my attention to writing and art. My poems address a wide range of concerns, from the influence of family, community, and world events, on life choices, to the ways making art shapes self and culture. A painter as well as a writer, I explore the interface between language and art through ekphrastic poems, and inter-weave text and visual imagery in mixed media works.

My full length collection, “A Palette of Leaves,” was published by Mayapple Press in December, 2012.
