ELIZABETH EVANS is the critically acclaimed author of six books of fiction, most recently the novel AS GOOD AS DEAD (Bloomsbury Books, 2015). Her two short story collections are SUICIDE’S GIRLFRIEND(Harper Collins) and LOCOMOTION (New Rivers). Her earlier novels are THE BLUE HOUR (Algonquin), ROWING IN EDEN (HarperCollins), and CARTER CLAY (HarperCollins). Recent short fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, Cutthroat, and the anthology XO Orpheus, Fifty New Myths, edited by Kate Bernheimer. “Evans is a masterful storyteller,” writes National Book Award winner Bharati Mukherjee. “Simultaneously funny, menacing, and wise, AS GOOD AS DEAD is her finest novel to date. She has been a fellow at MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, the International Retreat for Writers at Hawthornden Castle, and other arts foundations. Evans received her MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop. Professor emeritus on the faculty of the Program in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, Evans also does serves as guest writer at Queen’s University of Charlotte’s Low-Residence MFA Program in Creative Writing.
