Jeff Newberry is is the author of, most recently, How to Talk about the Dead (Redhawk Publications, 2024), A Stairway to the Sea (Pulpwood Press, 2016), Brackish (Aldrich Press 2012), and A Visible Sign (Finishing Line 2008). With Justin Evans, he the author of Cross Country (WordTech Editions, 2019), a colletion of epistolary verse.
With Brent House, he is the editor of The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast (Snake Nation Press). His collaboration with the poet Justin Evans, Cross Country, is forthcoming from WordTech Editions. His work has appeared in a variety of print and online journals, including The Florida Review, The Cortland Review, The Southeast Review, Memorious, Saw Palm: Florida Literature and Art, and Xavier Review, as well as in the online anthology Best of the Net 2008. His writing has been twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He's given talks and led panels at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference, the Flannery O'Connor and Other Georgia Writers Conference, The Conference on Christianity and Literature, The Florida Literary Arts Coalition's Other Words Conference, the Sanibel Island Writers Workshop, and the Gulf Coast Association of Creative Writing Teachers Conference. He is the vice president of the Southeastern Writers Association.
He teaches in the Writing and Communication Program at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia.
