Author's Bio

Liza Wolff-Francis is the 8th Poet Laureate of Carrboro, N.C. (2023-2025). She has an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Goddard College and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She runs EcoHopeful which offers programming to help people cope with the changing climate in order to take action against the climate crisis. She is a feminist ecopoet and has taught creative writing workshops for over a decade and helps organize the West End Poetry Festival with the Town of Carrboro and the Carrboro Poets Council. Her writing has been widely anthologized and has most recently appeared in The Bombay Literary Magazine, Walter Magazine, and Snapdragon. She has a poetry chapbook: “Language of Crossing” about the Mexico-U.S. border and a full-length collection through Kelsay Press called “48 hours down the shore.”
