Author's Bio

Rebecca Givens Rolland is a writer and speech-language pathologist whose creative work includes publications across genres, with a focus on poetry. Her first book of poetry won the May Sarton New Hampshire First Book Award and was published by Bauhan Publishing. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Oxford Poetry, the Kenyon Review, Gettysburg Review, American Letters & Commentary, and numerous other journals. She won the 2011 Dana Award in Short Fiction and has fiction published or forthcoming in The Literary Review, The North American Review, Slice, and Hobart. Her nonfiction has appeared in Brain, Child Magazine, The Harvard Education Letter, and is forthcoming in Education Week and the Tampa Review. She has an MA in English from Boston University and an EdD in education from Harvard. She consults on creative manuscripts through Grub Street.
