Author's Bio

I edited Explore, a University of Kansas research magazine that won 12 natonal awards in 14 years.  In 1990, a panel of Newsweek jurors chose it as one of the nation's top 10 college/university magazines. In 1995 I began writing research commentaries for Kansas Public Radio that also received play in several of Kansas' daily newspapers.  In addition to A Doubter's Guide to God, I co-edited, with David Ohle and Sue Brosseau, Cows Are Freaky When They Look at You: An Oral History of the Kaw Valley Hemp Pickers, a book about hemp and marijuana harvesting around Lawrence, Kansas, in the 1960s and '70s that was published in 1991 by Watermark Press in Wichita, Kansas.
