Author's Bio

Samantha is the author of Confluence (Broadstone Books, 2021). A National Poetry Series finalist, her poems have appeared in The Missouri Review, Colorado Review, Appalachian Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, EcoTheo Review, Barren Magazine, and On the Seawall, among others. She has received fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and the Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, and her work has been supported by the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers' Conference, the Audubon Artist Residency at Hog Island, and the University of New Hampshire, where she completed her MFA. She has received four Pushcart Prize nominations, and her second manuscript, Singing Ground, was a finalist for the National Poetry Series and the Gatewood Prize. Her poem "Spring Sign" won the 2021 Sandy River Review Comfort Contest, and her poem "I am a Parking Chair" was the winner of the Massachusetts Poetry Festival First Poem Contest, and took second place in the 2021 Cheltenham Poetry Festival Single Poem Contest. Samantha lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she is a staff reader for The Maine Review.
