Author's Bio

Sari C. Cunningham is an ecologist and writer, living near Oslo, Norway. She grew up in Yokohama, Japan. Sari attended Iowa State University where she majored in Animal Science and minored in English; she later pursued a MSc in Ecology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences where she studied the home range and area use patterns of the Eurasian kestrel, a small raptor species. She has worked as an academic writing instructor, editor, science communicator and research technician - most notably on the remote Arctic island of Bjørnøya with seabird monitoring for the Norwegian Polar Institute.

Sari is a board member of the Oslo Writers League, a non-profit organization serving writers in the greater Oslo area. Her writing has additionally appeared in The Curlew, Hayden's Ferry Review's blog, the Significant Objects project, and the Hver bydel har et hjerte/Hearts of the City project. Popular science articles have appeared in Tvergastein and Fauna. She is inspired by nature, place, and identity.
