Author's Bio

Anastasios Mihalopoulos is a Greek/Italian American from Boardman, Ohio. He was awarded scholarships to attend the 2022 Juniper Writing Institute as well as the 2022 Napa Valley Writer’s Conference. He has previously attended the Writing Workshops in Greece: Thessaloniki | Thasos as well as the Bread Loaf Writers Conference and the Banff Centre’s Late Winter Writers Residency in 2024. He was a finalist for the Black Lawrence Press 2022-2023 Immigrant Writing Series and has had several poems nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His poem “Odysseus’ Apology to Laertes” was selected as the winner of the 2024 Prism Review Poetry Prize. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Scientific American, Pithead Chapel, The Decadent Review, West Trade Review, Cider Press Review, Ergon, PRISM International, and elsewhere.

He received his M.F.A. in Poetry from the Northeast Ohio MFA (NEOMFA) consortium and his B.S. in both Chemistry and English from Allegheny College. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of New Brunswick.
