Loghaven Artist Residency

Loghaven offers residencies of two to six weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in five rehabilitated historic log cabins and newly built facilities on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. The residency includes an $850 weekly stipend for supplies and expenses, a travel subsidy on a sliding scale from $400 to $800, and up to $200 in reimbursement for materials shipping.

Taos Writers Conference

The eighth annual Taos Writers Conference was held from July 19 to July 21 at Society of the Muse of the Southwest, a literary organization in Taos, New Mexico. The conference featured workshops for poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and writers working in hybrid genres, as well as intensive critique sessions, faculty readings, and roundtable discussions with agents and editors. Cambridge Writers’ Workshop Budapest and Prague Writing Retreat

The Cambridge Writers’ Workshop Budapest and Prague Writing Retreat was held from July 19 to July 27 in the historic city centers of Budapest and Prague. The retreat featured writing and publishing workshops, craft seminars, and generative writing sessions for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The 29th annual Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) Postgraduate Writers’ Conference was held from August 3 to August 9 on the Champlain College campus in Burlington, Vermont. Renaissance House Residency Program

The Renaissance House Residency Program offered residencies of one to two weeks in July to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers at the former writing barn of Dorothy West in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Civitella Ranieri Foundation

The Civitella Ranieri Foundation “Forms of Wonder” workshop was held from November 16 to November 25 at the 15th-century Civitella Ranieri Castle in Umbria, Italy. The workshop featured writing sessions, craft lectures, and excursions to museums, local towns, religious sites, and natural settings for poets. The faculty included poets David Baker, D. A. Powell, and Paisley Rekdal. Residents were provided with a private apartment that included a bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom, and studio.

Buinho Creative Hub Residencies

Buinho Creative Hub offers residencies of two weeks to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in the historic town of Messejana, Portugal. Residents are provided with a single- or double-occupancy room in one of three traditional Portuguese houses, as well as access to private and shared studios. The Buinho residence also features a central studio and backyard workshop. The cost of the residency is €800 to €1,000 (approximately $872 to $1,090) per month, depending on the room; transportation and meals are not included.
