Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore

Mrs. Dalloway’s hosts over 150 stellar in-store author events each year, serving as a dynamic cultural center and resource for its neighborhood, its ever-expanding and devoted customer base, and as an outreach to the San Francisco Bay Area literary community. Mrs. Dalloway’s outgoing and talented booksellers are passionate about reading, love to share their eclectic tastes with illuminating staff picks, and are most happy when engaged in book talk. 

Casa Ramirez

Casa Ramirez stands as a cultural pillar in the community offering a selection of folk art, Mexican dresses, local artist work, books on culture and cooking and bilingual books for children, greeting cards and decorations. Classes have been offered on Dia de los Muertos traditions and altar building, learning Spanish and the history of tequila as well as poetry and author readings and storytelling.

Moe’s Books

Founded in 1959 by Moe Moskowitz and his wife, Barbara, Moe’s Books has become a beloved Berkeley institution and an emblem of the Beatnik era. Situated just four blocks from the University of California campus, this bookstore hosts a very active reading series and an array of literary events throughout the year.

Brews

Brews is both a taproom and java joint, and whether it’s local live music, art, games, or any kind of special event, this is one place where things are happening in Eureka Springs. They hold a monthly open mic event called “Word Brews.”

Broadway Book Mall

Broadway Book Mall is an independent bookstore, run by the former owners of the Denver Book Mall, in its current location on South Broadway since 2009. The bookstore hosts frequent author talks and signings, literary readings, and other local community events throughout the year.

Counterpath

Counterpath is a publisher, gallery and event space, and bookstore. As a publisher, Counterpath was founded in 2006 and has published over sixty titles to date. Its gallery and event space, opened in late 2010 and hosts art, music, digital, film, and literary exhibitions, performances, and events. Its bookstore, part of the event space, carries titles published by small and independent presses.

op.cit. books

op.cit. specializes in new and used books in all subjects, first editions, and a selection of remainders. The bookstore also hosts local author showcases and readings throughout the year.

Emerald Coast Writers

Emerald Coast Writers, formerly known as the West Florida Literary Federation, brings together writers and area residents who are interested in writing and the literary heritage of West Florida. They offer and host educational programs, writing workshops, readings, community programs, school poetry competitions, awards, critique sessions, open mics every third Tuesday of the month, and related activities for members and the public. They also sponsor an annual student poetry writing contest, publish an anthology biannually, and maintain the Dr. Francis P.

Marin Poetry Center

Located inside the Mill Valley Library in downtown Mill Valley, the mission of Marin Poetry Center is to nurture the enjoyment of poetry and the craft of writing throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Most of their events, meetings, and other programs will take place within one of the library’s many welcoming rooms. The Library is a fantastic resource with convenient parking and access to public transportation.

Shelf Life Books

Established in 2002, Shelf Life Books, formerly known as Chop Suey Books, offers the Richmond community two floors of new and gently used literature, art, photography, architecture, design, philosophy, poetry, theater, and film. The shop hosts various author events, including readings, with a healthy calendar of events throughout the year.
