Southampton Writers Conference
The 49th annual Southampton Writers Conference was held from July 10 to July 14 at the Stony Brook Southampton campus in Southampton, New York, located on the Atlantic coast 90 miles east of New York City. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as readings and an agent panel. The faculty included poets Billy Collins and Diana Khoi Nguyen, fiction writer Julia Phillips, fiction and nonfiction writers Matthew Klam and Frederic Tuten, and memoirist Nadia Owusu.

The Writer’s Retreat at Good Contrivance Farm
Good Contrivance Farm, an educational nonprofit, offers residencies of up to four weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on a Victorian farm in Reisterstown, Maryland, located 24 miles north of Baltimore. Residents are provided with private lodging in a renovated barn loft, which includes one bedroom, a bathroom, a full kitchen, a dining area, and a library; or in the Hen House Cottage, which includes a sleeping area with a queen-sized bed, a full kitchen, and a bathroom.

Sitka Center for Art and Ecology Writing Residencies
The Sitka Center for Art and Ecology offers two- to twelve-week residencies from October 2024 to April 2025 to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the Center’s adjacent 80-acre property, located within the unique ecosystems of Cascade Head and the Salmon River Estuary in Otis, Oregon. Each resident is provided with a private room, bathroom, and kitchen in a house, as well as private studio space and access to the Hale Reference Library. Residents are responsible for travel and living costs.

Fine Arts Work Center Summer Workshop Program
The Fine Arts Work Center’s (FAWC) annual summer workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction were held from June 16 to August 16 in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Ou-telier Residency
The Ou Gallery’s Ou-telier program offers one- to four-week residencies starting on the 1st and 16th of every month year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on Gabriola Island in British Columbia, Canada. Residents are provided with a private studio and one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin, which can be shared with an artist collaborator or family member.
