Posman Books is a family-owned independent mini-chain with five locations, including one in New York City at Chelsea Market. The Chelsea Market Flagship store opened in 2009 and is located near the Tenth Avenue entrance, or the western side of the market. There is a great selection of fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, and more.
Books Are Magic, an independent bookstore in the Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, is owned by author Emma Straub and her husband Michael Fusco-Straub. The bookstore sells everything from best-sellers to a wide selection of kids’ books to titles by local authors, and hosts literary events including book launches, readings, and talks.
King’s Books is located in the historic Stadium District of Tacoma. This community-oriented bookstore is the largest used and new independent bookstore in the Tacoma area, with 5,500 square feet and approximately 150,000 books. It has a myriad of used books, a growing selection of new books, and some lovely rare books. Store events include book clubs, discussions, author events, writing workshops, open mics, and readings.

With over 60,000 titles, specializing in art, film, photography, music, controversial nonfiction, and literary fiction, the shop hosts author events and is open daily.
